Privacy Policy
Lingoshelf (also called “English Planner”; the “Planner”) is a service for logging and looking back on your language study. The Planner collects only what it needs and uses it only for the purposes below.
1. Information we collect
- When you sign in (optional): with Google sign-in, your Google account email address and name; with Kakao sign-in, your Kakao nickname (and email address if you agree). If you don’t sign in, we don’t collect these.
- What you enter: study logs, writing, expression notes, goals, levels, your librarian name (nickname) and introduction, and other records in the app. If you sign in, they are stored on our server so you can see them on other devices. If you don’t, they stay only in the browser on your device.
- Recordings: currently stored only in the browser of the device you recorded on, and never sent to our server.
- Visit statistics: how often each page is opened, approximate country, device type and browser, and daily visit counts (only whether the visitor was signed in). We don’t use cookies for this and collect it only in a form that cannot identify you.
- Level test (optional): only if you agree to anonymous statistics, we save your level result, your progress through the steps (a random session ID, language, and step), your habit type if you take the habit check, and any review you leave. This is not linked to an account.
- Visitor reply count: when you get an AI visitor reply while signed in, we keep only your account, the date, and a count, to apply a daily limit. We don’t keep the content of your reply.
- Interest clicks: when you tap the “I’d use this” button on the Partner tab, we only add one to a total per feature. We don’t record who tapped it.
1-1. Cookies and on-device storage
- We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Your records, settings, and recordings are kept in your browser’s IndexedDB storage, and small values such as your sign-in state are kept in localStorage. Clearing the site data in your browser removes them.
2. How we use it
- To sign you in, verify it’s you, and show the same records on all your devices
- To fix and improve the service (visit statistics)
- To answer your questions
3. Retention and deletion
- If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your records on the server without delay.
- Delete it yourself: after signing in, tap “탈퇴하기” (Delete account) at the bottom of the My tab. Your account, server records, and the records on that device are deleted right away. If you cannot use the app, email lingoshelf.app@gmail.com with the email address you signed in with (for Kakao sign-in, your nickname).
- Records stored only on your device are deleted when you clear the browser’s site data.
4. Service providers and international transfers
The Planner runs on the services below. We never give or sell your information to others for other purposes.
- Supabase (Supabase Inc., USA): sign-in and record storage. Data is stored in the Republic of Korea (Seoul). Anonymous level test statistics are stored in a separate project (server location: Seoul, South Korea).
- Vercel (Vercel Inc., USA): website hosting and visit statistics.
- Cloudflare (Cloudflare Inc., USA): visit statistics for the level test pages (no cookies).
- Google (Google LLC, USA): Google sign-in and web fonts (Google Fonts). When fonts load, your IP address and browser information are sent to Google.
- Kakao (Kakao Corp., Republic of Korea): Kakao sign-in.
- Anthropic (Anthropic PBC, USA): generating visitor replies. When you reply to a visitor while signed in, your reply is sent to the AI provider (Anthropic) to generate the visitor’s answer. We don’t store your reply on our server.
The information transferred, timing and method, and retention period are the same as in sections 1–3. [Expert review needed]
5. Children under 14
Children under 14 cannot use the sign-in (account) feature. Using the Planner without signing in, with records kept only on the device, is fine. [Review needed: parental consent process]
6. Your rights
You can ask at any time to see, correct, or delete your information, or to stop its processing. Email lingoshelf.app@gmail.com.
Users outside Korea have the same rights. If the law where you live (e.g. the EU GDPR) gives you broader rights, we respect those too. [Expert review needed: rights of international users, legal basis]
